The Falls, Balance and Injury Research Centre at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) has created this website to provide information and tools that can assist you to prevent falls. You can also read more on its StandingTall program, which uses technology to deliver an evidence-based balance program.

What can you do?

Regular Exercise
StandingTall recommends 2 hours of balance exercises per week for at least 6 months, because this is what research has shown is required to help prevent falls. You can start easy with 40 minutes per week and increase each fortnight until you reach 120 min

Move more
National physical activity guidelines recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity per week. Many people do not reach this target. StandingTall is a great way to safely increase your overall activity levels.

What is StandingTall?
StandingTall is a home-based, unsupervised balance exercise program delivered through technology. The balance exercises are tailored to match your specific needs and ability. You will be guided through each exercise, in your own time and at your own pace.
